I'm still kind of embarrassed I haven't beaten his 174 yet, not that I've really tried lately...

Thanks, Mr. Wrona (Airplane! "don't call me Shirley"-styled humor, forgive me).

I still like my idea better but Andrei's is definitely worth considering, so thanks for the idea.

I'm probably not entering in 2011 unless there's a new points system or Kukkain is not entering, since I'll have literally no way to win on that logarithmic scale, even if I win all 8 medium/long masters, because it's easier to win by a large amount on a short master than a medium/long master.

But ...

No, I had zero mistakes in Russian. The problem is that I only scored 789 and I needed to score 2400 for it to count. Had I been credited with the 789 characters I got, I would have been in second place. There's a speed limit as well as an error limit.

Hakan Kurt beat me by 179 points at the last minute, so I practiced in Cyrillic some to try to reclaim second place, but I didn't fully understand the rules so even though I typed 789 characters (and thus my characters - 50 * errors was greater than his), it didn't count because I would have needed ...

Gaining 8000 in one year is quite a lot. While I'm not totally surprised, I thought Recep Ertas would be the guy to post a score like that. Still haven't heard from him yet. Disappointed, but I'm still not gonna bother with Russian since I can't do 4700 in it in two days.

Looks like Recep Ertaş is the only guy I have to be seriously concerned about, since he managed 71000 last year and got 73100 (just over 73024) in the practice Turkish run. Doesn't mean he'll duplicate now what he did then, but I'd tip him as the favorite unless I can get 1000 in Russian or ...

I did the eight languages I considered simplest yesterday, and seven others today. I just wanted to get this over with quickly for no rational reason. Russian was the only language I didn't touch yet because of how different it is and that keyboard would take hours to set up, or longer than that to ...

Okay. While some people started out with some of the harder languages, I'm deciding to start with the easier ones to give me practice with the official clock and so on. I don't really have the patience to practice all fourteen languages five times. I probably already practiced in English, Italian ...

As for you, couldn't you connect your Das KB on your laptop?
Yes, I can. Thank you for that idea. Helped me greatly on this master.

Andrei, I wasn't paying attention to my accuracy, but I can tell you all I had to pay for was food and expenses to travel from my home to the Ithaca airport and back.

Karen, I think I intimidated him for sure, especially in one of the one-sentence practice rounds where I beat him 180-something to ...

I won the competition which ended a few hours ago. It was a best-of-three competition.

I beat Nate Bowen 163 wpm-110 wpm on the following text:

That all our knowledge begins with experience there can be no doubt. For how is it possible that the faculty of cognition should be awakened into exercise ...

What's the difference between that keyboard and the keyboards you used to use?
You are close to Hiroki's score which was 174 wpm.... Is it possible to type that fast? Can you do it?

Well, it's a deluxe model. I was typing on a $5 or $10 keyboard purchased at Staples, while this is a $100 "deluxe ...

I received my new keyboard to practice on for the Ultimate Typing Championship finals yesterday from Das Keyboard, and it's a lot faster than the keyboard I had before. I'm still not totally accustomed to it so I'm making more errors, but I did manage to break four of my records here (all except the ...

They didn't let me send a screenshot either. It was only when I sent them a coded file of my scores that they accepted my score. However, I'm ready to forfeit my score if it will make people less angry here. I do think anyone in the same situation as me should be given the same consideration, if ...
