It seems I've made it into the semi-finals... which, with so many of our top typers ineligible, means less than it might, but it should still be quite the competition. I expect Sean Wrona to win, based on his recent performances on various typing sites, but anything could happen. I'm passing on the mail they sent me, in case anyone is curious.
It will be interesting to see who the (semi-)final 6 are... I've no idea who LaughDonor is or if he's good in a racing context, Kukkain most probably will be disqualified, donvu4u has been called out on being a cheater multiple times on TypeRacer... we may well see Dan Chen (is that our own Dan Chen? are you out there, and why didn't you blow us all out of the water?

) and even possibly Joshua Yanovski get into the mix.

Congratulations! Because of your blazing fast typing skills, you've
been selected as a semi-finalist in theUltimate Typing Championship.
You now have an opportunity to compete in the upcoming "Round of Six,"
happening online this coming Saturday, January 9th at 2:30 p.m.
Central Standard Time. Before doing so, you'll need to do a few things
toensure your participation in the UTC semi-final round, so please
read the following details very closely.
· By no later than 5:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, January 6th, we
need to know that you accept your selection as a UTC semi-finalist and
that you will compete online in the Round of Six on January 9th. Todo
this, please simply reply to this email and indicate in the body that
"I Accept."
· In your email response, please also include a phone number at
which we can reach you in case we needto contact you for any reason
regarding the UTC contest prior to the semi-final round.
· To help us ensure that "you are who you say you are," we also
need you to email or fax a photo of your driver's license or other
form of identification. This needs to be done by the same deadline
listed above - no later than 5:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, 1/6.
Please attach the digital photo of your ID to your "I Accept" email
response. If you prefer to fax a photocopy to us, please use the

· By competing as a UTC semi-finalist, we want to remind you of
some important points from thecontest's Terms & Conditions which
you've already agreed to when you registered to compete in
thecompetition. As a UTC semi-finalist, you agree that:
1) You are at least 18-years-old.
2) You are a permanent, legal resident of the 50 United States
(includes District of Columbia).
3) You have not cheated in any way in obtaining your typing score.
4) If selected as one of two finalists, you will travel to Austin,
Texas between the dates of March 13-15, 2010 to compete in the final
round of the Ultimate Typing Championship during the SXSW "Block
Party" event. (Das Keyboard will cover the costs of air fare and a
two-night hotel stay for each finalist.)
If for any reason you do not meet the above criteria, you will not be
able to participate as a UTC semi-finalist. You can read the

Pending your acceptance as a semi-finalist in the Ultimate Typing
Championship, you will receive a follow-up email with additional
details regarding the upcoming "Round of Six."
