Hello

Post by Moutinho »

Hello guys! It's nice to be back. Here is one of the best typing competition websites. But I wish more people participate on the Master's.

Thank you for your support!

I don't know how we could get more people on the Masters.
But actually even if we don't have a lot of people, we have very high skilled people, such as Sean or Guilherme... The level is very high, I think.

How could we attract more people to come to the Masters...
If someone have ideas, it would be welcome :)

Hello Moutinho

Post by Son »

Welcome to the forum !!

I've missed this too.... I remember the good old days with Karen Koulakian and Christopher Jousselin and Romain Paillot..... 2005 2006 those were the best years :)))

Anyway, times have changed, the guys I mentioned above have all quit typing. They've been replaced by Sean, Guilherme, Michael etc...

And I've started to slow down too....

The future belongs to young guys. You must keep the legend going :))

Hello Felipe, hello all!

That's my first message too, but I don't want to "spam" with other post to my particular presentation. I wanted to say a couple of things about this message:

I understand this message like you're back again like the forum? If that's the case I think here we are a few people with desires to recover the popularity that typingzone once had. This implies changes, changes that I hope you're willing to take into account. Of course I'm talking about changes for the 2019 championship, not this year. We have 4 months left, I think enough to share very good ideas together to make this much more attractive.

I know this is not the place, so this afternoon I'll post a new message in the corresponding section. I hope this has answers! :)

I don't know if it is right, but I think that the program "Typingzone.zip" for download, actually is blocked when downloaded by Google Chrome, which says that the program is a dangerous file. This maybe put away some new Typists who discover the website.

Why this happen?

Hello man, this year my personal "battle" is to beat you on the master's, I think we have similar speeds, at least in the last months. Keep participating on the next Master's :D

Glad to see the forums up!

I've invited people to Typingzone but the biggest hurdle seems to be that the program is flagged by browsers and anti-virus software. Some people in the typeracer discord channel might be interested to join anyway.

Really impressed with Guilherme's 231 on this text! That's insane and waaay outside my abilities. You should try the permanent texts a bit more!

Oh, I did not introduce myself on the first message. I'm Felipe Moutinho and I'm 24 years old. I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I've been typing for fun since I was like 12/13 years old. Sometimes I disappear from the typing websites for some months, but I always come back. Currently I just type on the weekends, this difficult a little my improvement in this art. But I keep going.

You've beaten me in a portuguese text, I need to practice a little bit until that battle!

Sure you'll be getting your goals as soon as possible. 2019 could be interesting with both participating from the beginning.

You can tell them try to download "telechargement" at http://www.zonedactylo.com . At least it's a momentary solution that can work.

Unfortunately, the reason why the program is suspected to be dangerous, is that it is protected by a Armadillo Software Passport. This adds a lot of protection mechanism (such as blocking debugging software like SoftICE, compressing and decompressing in real-time memory blocks of the program to make it difficult to be analyzed by a debugger, etc...)

Before I put this protection mechanism, the scores were hacked almost every week. After I put it, they were never hacked. So, I really need this protection...

But it is often mistaken to be a virus (because of its strange behaviour, such as altering memory all the time by compressing/decompressing code blocks in memory) by many antiviruses...

I don't really know how to solve this issue...

Bad news in that case. My computer skylls are almost 0, I don't know what to say for a solution... Maybe change the protection and working harder for ban people, today there are no much people playing. But I suppose some cheats are not easy to notice

Why ZoneDactylo is not suspected? You could put some warning, explaining the reason the program is suspected to be dangerous on the Typingzone download's page, at least until the problem is not solved, or to recommend the ZoneDactylo's page.
