LOL the text was very easy but I was so nervous on the EN that I kept making errors

Admittedly the CZ text was very difficult so I can see why the Czechs were much slower this year than last year.

I've just noticed that Hakan Kurt, who placed first at Intersteno -> maternal language, with an amazing 807 cpm, has joined TypingZone / ZoneDactylo. Perhaps he'll stick around, things would get really interesting if he did

Mmmmh... he made only 107 wpm in English text, that's low... It makes a big difference between his score in Turkish on a 10-minute unknown text...

J'aimerais trop que Helena s'inscrive sur Zone Dactylo, mdr! Enfin... Il n'y a pas la langue Tchèque donc je sais pas si elle serait première partout mais c'est quand même "la" plus rapide dans le monde!

955,10 CPM on thirty minutes... S*** her, she's famous!

Your score: 442 keys per minute ~ 88 words per minute
Language/mode: en
Ranking: That was fast - you can still improve, though.
Comparison: 8% of 31962 registered TyperA users using this language have typed a better result; 92% have a lower or equal result.

first try

Wow, you did 150 wpm on the english text to grab the top spot on the ranking, and this after only one day? If you're legit, that's extraordinary!

There's no doubt in my mind that my friend here at that *other* school is a faster typer than I am.

Yes, I'm legit. Reading this thread, I'm now curious about this "intersteno" competition. Is it an official typing speed contest? Are there cash prizes (and if so, how does one compete?)?

Yeah! It's a serious official competition :)
If u participate just to the international contest on Internet (every year in april/may), u haven't reward... (but personally, I received a medallion last year, for my third place in mother language ; three years ago, I had received a camera and two years ago, a MP3 player... by Intersteno French)
However if u also participate to the World Championship (every two years in a different city, next in august 2009 in Beijing, China), u can receive a cup and a medal by the Chinese Congress...
These rewards aren't extraordinary... But try to get in touch with the American Delegation of Intersteno? U'll have more informations.

Euh, u've tried English Ten-minutes text?

Try it and tell us how do u do :) (score, errors...)
Are u aware that ur friend Dan Chen has won the contest (Multilingual). U have an excellent competitor ^^

Hm, last thing : have u MSN? Add me: motsak@msn.com :) We'll talk about typing. I'll present u other typists.

Ok, these are the results from my first attempt:

Errors: 8, CPM: 726.2, Score: 6862, %errors: 0.11

You can see a screenshot here: http://web.mit.edu/minilek/www/10mins.png.

So, I guess I have some practicing to do before I have a shot at winning intersteno. Stupidly, one of my errors was that my eyes completely missed some line, so I didn't type a whole line of text. I did that twice..the second time I noticed (after typing another line), so I backspaced pretty far back to fix it.
