I also don't understand what the big deal is.
I'm responding to this because someone told me about this discussion. Plus, I'm explicitly mentioned/criticized, and I'd like to address that.
I don't really selectively participate... if this were true, I would have participated this month. It was an English text but also a Typeracer text (my 11,000 Typeracer races would have given me a good head start).
Instead, it's much more accurate to say that I just don't participate anymore because I am too busy with other things, and I'm not interested.
Why do you say I'm selectively participating? Plus, what's wrong with selectively participating anyways? It's a game.. it's supposed to be fun, and people can participate when and how it is fun for them to do so. Of course, it might be more fun for me if I could win sometimes. But that doesn't mean that Andrei/Chen/Karen/Jelani/Jordan are doing something wrong when they prevent me from winning

What bothers me is that you think you're something special because you show up here and type only when an english text wins.
How come that Andrei can type on every single master? Is he something special? No he is not and he is not acting as the one.
If you type only when an english text is the choosen one that means you are here all the time and waiting for the winning combination for you.
If you are for only for fun here why don't you type on every master? IT'S ALSO A FUN! Be honest and do like so...

Not quite.
You think I'm special, I do not. I do not claim to be the best English typer (which is obvious -- Hiroki? Jelani?).
As I've said, typing in other languages is
not fun for me. It is fun for you; not me. There is a difference there. The difference being I am not you.
Why do you care so much what I do or when I type? Don't you have something else to worry about?
Anyway, I am sorry you feel this way, but it will probably never change.
Also I think you seriously need to take a look at the tone of your posts. A host would never be such a LOSER like yourself. Yes, you are a big loser, go cry more little boy.

Please calm down guys.
I will delete this post if you persist!
If someone wants to complete six masters out of twelve.. it's his choice!

You should delete everything then.
I think you should use vocabulary because "loser" isn't such a nice word as you think.

I might ask you the same thing!
loser (en) = perdant (fr) (not so nasty, in my opinion)
Zoran, you should stop to think about other candidates.
Let them live their life. Damn about if they take part in master or not! It's their choice.
Hasta luego.

What happened, Jelani? You moved out of the USA?

Their terms say that you must be a resident of one of the 50 states or D.C. My legal residency is in the US Virgin Islands, which is a US territory, so I'm not eligible. I contacted them, and they said they might be able to extend the region of eligibility to include me, but then we reached another sticking point in our discussion: Item 7 in
http://ultimatetypingchampionship.com/terms_conditions/. This article gives them
"the right to use and publish [my] name, portrait, picture, voice, video tape, biographical information and likeness, and statements regarding the Contest and any of Sponsor's products (provided the statements are true) at any time or times, for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without additional consideration, worldwide and on the Internet, without notification, review or approval"
I told them I wouldn't do the semifinals unless they toned down that language, but we couldn't reach an agreement.

I can see Kukkain in the ranking. I guess that means that he lived in USA and that he is not from Brazil if I understand good the rules, no ?

Nope! Sandrini Guilherme (hope I'm not mistaking) lives in São Paulo, I think.

It seems I've made it into the semi-finals... which, with so many of our top typers ineligible, means less than it might, but it should still be quite the competition. I expect Sean Wrona to win, based on his recent performances on various typing sites, but anything could happen. I'm passing on the mail they sent me, in case anyone is curious.
It will be interesting to see who the (semi-)final 6 are... I've no idea who LaughDonor is or if he's good in a racing context, Kukkain most probably will be disqualified, donvu4u has been called out on being a cheater multiple times on TypeRacer... we may well see Dan Chen (is that our own Dan Chen? are you out there, and why didn't you blow us all out of the water?

) and even possibly Joshua Yanovski get into the mix.
